NEXT SHOW -- Bowers Chili Pepper Fest with the Roadshow, 11:30-12 noon....coming soon...my new CD, "The Springs of Colorado
Hey . . . thanks for stopping by. My name is Haley Sheeler. Perhaps you’ve seen me in and around Berks County, Pennsylvania, doing what I love to do . . . singing with my babies, Jackson 'n Sully (the coolest Martin guitars a girl could ever wrap her arms around). I’ve had this love affair with music forever and started taking piano lessons at the age of 6. A few years later, I added flute lessons. While playing the classical stuff has always been good, clean fun, my ultimate musical high came along when, at the age of 13, I picked up the guitar. It’s when I began to write music . . . it’s when I began to sing . . . it’s when I found my voice, both literally and figuratively. And so, fast forward to October, 2003. I went with my parents to see Jackson Browne at the Sovereign Center for Performing Arts in Reading, PA. Just Jackson, alone on stage with his guitar collection and his piano. No set list, just the audience shouting out requests. Everyone knew his music. How cool it would be for everyone to know my music. It was one of those moments . . . I knew I wanted to perform. So, here I am . . . yes, I love music from the 60’s and 70’s . . . Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Carole King, Bob Dylan, and Bob Marley. But I’m also all about artists such as Damien Rice, Joan Osbourne, Natalie Merchant, Sarah McLachlan, Ani DiFranco, and Ben Harper. My debut CD, "Closer to the Ground," is a reflection of their influence on my music. These singer/ songwriters have and always will be a great inspiration to me, and there will always be a spot in my set and in my heart for these artists and their wonderful music. My inspiration doesn’t stop there, however. A few years ago, I met Kellen Wenrich (one awesome fiddle player), and later, his friends, Jordan Capizzi ‘n Andrew Killough. Together, they formed a band called “Share the Bread," and we started sharing some shows and jammin’ together. Anyway, their acoustic folk rock style just blows me away. . .and, Kellen and that damned fiddle . . . well, let’s just say that performin’ the folk stuff with these guys is just too much fun to ignore. So, thanks, in part, to Kellen, Jordan ‘n Andrew . . .and a few cowboys here and there . . . I’ve now found myself drawn to the pure and simple sound of classic folk and the down-home flavor of good ol’ country music. And to me, folk and country are just a helluva great toe-tappin’ time, and ya can’t beat that. So, for those of you who have followed me and my music, I've changed things up a little to reflect my new-found love and inspiration. If you stop by one of my shows, I’ll be comin’ atcha with the sounds of new and used country, my own brand of alternative folk originals, and, of course, a great new CD, "Walkin' West." And don't worry . . . although my sound might be changing just a bit, one thing will never change . . . my peace-loving, far-left attitude.

A "beautiful and moody ballad...Sarah McLachlan meets Trisha Yearwood."
Taxi A&R on "Through the Bitter Sky"

"With all the sterile, emotionless product littering the charts today, it's nice to hear an album that actually sounds real . . . (Sheeler) has a gift for melody, with lines usually often seeping into your memory upon first listen . . . There are no duds."

Reading Eagle on "Walkin' West"

"It’s hard not to be lulled into her tales by the siren of her voice. If you’re sitting at the singer-songwriter table, then invite Haley Sheeler’s “Closer to the Ground” to take a seat. Rest assured, she’ll bring IT."
